Balance Bar review & Walmart trip PLUS a #Giveaway

As many of you know I love fitness. I've been in the fitness life for over a year and a half now and love my results. Like they say, once you start to see results, it becomes addicting. Addicting to eating clean and working out even if it's just a walk around the corner. The effort of doing so is what counts the most.

During this journey of mine I noticed consuming sweets was going to be harder to let go than I had imagined. Even though eating clean was a big change I had to cut down on the sugar way more than what I thought. Sugar is one of the best known foods to create fat. Many people think calories is a big gain factor, but its not, sugar is. You need calories to build that muscle. So, I did my research and found out that Balance Bars was going to be not only the best bar to consume without any worries, but also a nutritional bar for lasting energy. Something every fit individual wants.

Balance Bars was created in Santa Barbra, CA in 1992. It was created by people who care about great taste and good for you nutrition. They are available to buy at over 10 local stores including online retailers. You can find out a lot more about Balance Bars on their website at . Where there you can also sign up for their newsletter where you can stay up to date about Balance Bars and much more.

I was able to try out 2 different Balance Bar flavors that I've never tried before, cookie dough and peanut butter. Now what girl is going to say no to those two flavors? I love cookie dough and I love peanut butter, I literally have to have at least 3 full spoons of peanut butter everyday. That's not including the peanut sandwich I also have every morning (guilty). I bought these two boxes at my local WalMart for under $5.00. Very very affordable for such a great bar.  I loved everything about both flavors. They're filling which is a good thing for me. The cookie dough has little pieces of chocolate in them which is awesome. Chocolate fix right there all in a nutritious bar. You can also see how creamy and delicious the peanut butter bar looks. It's just so heavenly with absolute no regrets.

When it comes to the nutrition facts I always and never miss over looking at what I will be consuming. The first thing I look at is the sugar grams. If it exceeds over 25 grams of sugar I will not buy the product. Balance Bar surprised me when I seen it only had 17 grams of sugar. Not bad for someone like me who is cutting out the sugars. I also noticed that it had a long list of vitamins and iron. I always look at the iron percentage as well. And the best part is the protein grams. Also contains an excellent source of antioxidants.  I can't consume any product without it having enough protein so with that said all in all I give these 2 amazing bars a thumbs up.

One of the most common topics I also wanted to cover was workout clothes. I know many of us are on tight budgets trust me I know because I'm always on the hunt for a good bargain when it comes to workout clothes. But one of my top places I would recommend is WalMart. Walmart always has the best prices. I've compared both price and quality and let me tell you this place has won. I kid you not the shirt to the left was on clearance for $1.00. I love a regular tshirt for my workout days. It's loose no need to worry about any tight fitting. You can work out comfortably. To the right I have a racer back shirt that I fell in love with. It was $5.49. That's a great price for a shirt like that. I compared it to a store where they sell clothing like this and I wouldn't pay $13 bucks for this. The shorts are also amazing. It has a slight tight band around the waist so they won't fall which is a plus for me. They are very comfortable and not tight. I like loose clothing because you can actually do your workouts. They were under 6 bucks. Great price once again. Shorts like these would range around almost 10 bucks. Again, that's not what I'm willing to pay. With an easy 10 bucks and some change I was able to buy 2 tops and a pair of shorts at WalMart for workout clothes. Make no excuses. You can also check out their website at and sometimes you can find clearance workout clothing too.
In conclusion, Balance Bars are really my favorite go to bar. Not only does it kill my sweet cravings, but its nutritional, indulging and best of all affordable. You can't go wrong with an affordable product when trying to lose weight or get fit. I personally love it because it contain protein that I need on a daily basis for muscle gain.

Now for the giveaway!! One lucky winner will receive a $10.00 gift card along with a box filled with a variety of my favorite Balance Bars. WOW. What a better way to start off your journey. Go ahead and enter for your chance to win.

Note: I was with monetary value or product value. I received a WalMart giftcard as part of a sponsored collaboration with Balance Bar and WalMart.

Tide to Go Review #influenster

Here come the bells here come the bells. It's wedding season, YAASS! I said it wedding season. An awesome gf of mine just got married last week and took a honey moon trip to Cabo. One of my child hood friends is getting married in September and another one of my child hood friends is getting married in November. Whew. It's all over the place this year with wedding season, but its always exciting to see a couple who you know will enjoy their lives together for ever.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding has to be the food! I love food, but I am also a messy gal. Pass the bib please. My boyfriend always tells me not to wear white or any light colors or we will be needing a bib for me. Do I ever listen, nope. And what happens to me? I end up staining my cute clothes. Ugh! So, I decided to prepare myself this time around and brought the amazing Tide To Go pen with me.

We decided to head to Joes Crab Shack for lunch while we were out the day before the wedding. It was just us and the newlyweds and ofcourse all the grooms and bridesmaids. I ofcourse wore a white with blue strip maxi dress that I was going to wear even though I knew it would turn out to be a messy lunch. I took my Tide to Go pen with confidence because I knew I could count on it.

Can you see I even got a bib on. Lol that was a classic moment. I enjoyed my amazing lunch grubbing and making a mess. I did end up staining the leg part of my dress, but it was no biggie. I happily pulled out my pen and began to erase the stain off and it came off. The bride was in shock. Her inner bridezilla came out and tried to steal my stain eraser pen, but I ended up hiding it from her. I was so happy I was able to enjoy this lunch without any worries. The Tide to Go pen is a life saver for me. It fits in my purse without taking up any space. It's easy to use and works instantly. Literally second to come off. For the next wedding I know what I'll be packing along with me.

Thank you Influenster for this complimentary product sent to me for testing purposes.

What is Earth Day?
  1. Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the  Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.
This year I was fortunate to have the opportunity to not only celebrate Earth Day myself BUT to help spread the word about staying healthy while thinking about and celebrating Earth Day with Balance Bar.

I have been a huge fan of Balance Bar since last year when I decided  to change my lifestyle. I changed the way I ate, the way I looked at food and the way I managed to keep myself on the right track. And during that journey I did a little research and found out Balance Bar would be the best fit. A year later, I am in love with Balance Bars I eat them after my workout for that boost of protein and best of all when I get my sweet cravings I can always count on Balance Bars to be there for me. Even when on the go I have found that Balance Bars are very convenient and tasty for me at the same time. I am thrilled to be able to review their Balance Bars Dark Chocolate Crunch Bars for Earth Day!

I am a big chocolate lover when it comes to sweets. Knowing that candy is no longer on my list I know that the Balance Bars Dark Chocolate Crunch Bars can help me satisfy my cravings in a healthy way with no regrets. Makeup Forever Mat Velvet & Full Coverage Concealer Review

Well hello there beautiful, thanks for stopping by. Today's review is my favorite I shall say. Let me give you all a little background to how this review came about. I only review the BEST makeup out there. So please sit down and relax. Lol because this is about to get good.

So last week I went to my Sephora to look for a full coverage foundation. I have oily skin on my face so trying to find that without help was going to be a mission. So my first color match was done by a guy. My theory about guys and makeup, they're better than us women. Hands down. So anyways, he matched me to the Kat Von D tattoo foundation which is supposed to be the best full coverage right now. At the store yes the color matched. I was excited to wear it the next day to work. And I did....looking like a ghost from the grave. Ugh. Great. Another trip to Sephora. So a couple days later I go back. Different gal tells me that with the Kat Von D foundation is a bit tricky. You either match it or you don't So, she recommended me the Clinique foundation. Matched me, took it home and again couldn't wait to try it in the morning for work. Again, the biggest fail. I look pale and oh my goodness it didn't fit me at all. Went back to Sephora the next day BUT to a different Sephora. Told them my annoyance of coming for the 3rd time. She said sit down I know the perfect foundation for you. And she brought out the Makeup Forever Mat Velvet foundation. Tried it on and wow, perfect match. I asked her then how I needed a full coverage under eye foundation. She then came out with the Makeup Forever concealer. Bam perfect match. I guess 3rd time is a charm for some of us. Anyways here is my picture after applying the makeup on. My skin looks flawless, fresh and I just feel wonderful. Makeup Forever is my new best friend.

Here is my flawless picture. I have very dark under eye circles and you can't tell I do on here. I did not touch up anything this is the original photo. Very amazing products. Very satisfied and happy that I bought these items.

Bath & Body Works Candle Review

Have you ever bought a candle that was highly recommended by You-Tubers or those "advertisers" whom claim to so be "obsessed" with an "amazing" candle? Yeah I think we've all been there before. Well, on Monday  I decided to stop by Bath and Body Works to check out their candles. This week you can grab their 3 wick candles 2/$22 each one is individually priced at $22.50 and above. I wasn't going to buy any candles because I really didn't need them nor did I believe they give that aroma I expect. And for that price I really expected a lot from their candles. Anyways, I smelled almost all of their candles and I only liked, not love, 2 scents, Hawaiian Hibiscus and Red Guava Lava. The only ones that caught my attention. Anyways, got home and turned on the Hawaiian candle first. I couldn't get the wick to turn on so I kept trying to turn on the wicks. After my 4th attempt I finally started them off. I loved the look of the wicks burning it looked very relaxing and just something I can stare at. At first I didn't smell anything at all. I let an hour pass and still nothing. I left it on over night to see if something would give off and it did...just a little. I was kind of disappointed because I knew it was too good to be true. But then again some of you may have experienced differently than I have.

So for their candles overall I would give them a 7/10. The presentation of the candle and the look of them I rate them a 10/10. Their pricing for the candle I rate them a 5/10. Reason being is because who would want to pay over 20 bucks for a candle that's not really going to give a strong scent? I want my money's worth. I would honestly pay the most 8 bucks for this candle if I were to give it it's worth. I truly believe if anyone is going to be honest about a product I would be the first to raise my hand. Thank you for stopping by!

This post is in no way sponsored. I purchased these products with my own money. All opinions are my own 100% honesty.

Toilet Paper and Hand Towel paper deal at K-Mart 2/16-2/22

So if you haven't heard, K-Mart is having a pretty good deal that ends tomorrow I repeat, TOMORROW!. I was happy that they stocked up on this at my local Kmart because there were a lot of people grabbing this deal I couldn't believe it. Make sure that if you don't have this weeks ad in hand ask one of the cashiers for a store ad. I had to ask for one since I forgot mine at home. The back page has a bunch of store coupons you'll need in order to score a great deal.

The 12pk of Cottonelle both the Ultra and the Clean Care are $5.99 without the in ad coupon. Make sure you clip that in ad coupon to make these $3.99 each. There's a limit of 2. I also got the 6pk of Viva hand towels. Also at $5.99 but with the in ad coupon will make them each $3.99. When you literally think about this deal it's actually a great deal. A regular 12 pack of toilet paper by Charmin would cost you about what I spent here in this picture or even more like about 18.00 bucks. I like Cottonelle although it's not my first choice, but for $3.99 I had to grab it. In total I spent $15.96 for all 4.

Easy DIY Protein shake

Hello all, sorry I have been MIA all this time. I have been very busy with life, work, getting toned up and fit for the summer. I recently have been coming up with different ways to increase my protein intake. I'm not a fan of protein shakes bought at the store nor am I a fan of those muscle protein bottles of powder you can use in your drinks. I'm more of a DIY at home kind of gal. So, I came up with a fun easy way to make my own protein shake at home. I have been drinking an 8oz for the past 3 days and it is so yummy and filling. I normally drink it about 15 mins after my workout.

1 banana
1 egg
1 serving size of any flavor light yogurt (I wouldn't recommend using greek yogurt, but if you would like greek yogurt go for it)
2/4 cup of almond milk or if you would rather chose regular milk that's fine.

throw you ingredients into the blender. Blend for about 15 seconds to really breakdown the raw flavor of the egg. I can't stand a raw egg in my mouth it makes me gag so I wait about 15 seconds til I stop the blender. Pour your shake into an 8oz glass and drink up. Simple as that. Perfect amount of protein after a workout.

Losing weight & Getting fit: My advice, what I did and how I remain motivated

In previous posts I had mentioned about my weight loss and how I was trying to stay fit. It all began last year during late February when I decided to make this change for myself and no one else. I knew it wasn't going to be easy and I was going to have to find a way to remain motivated and remain dedicated to my decision. For those who are wondering if I kept my word, I sure did. And I am so proud of myself for it. Next month will be an entire year that I've been working out eating healthy and trying little by little to inspire those that want to make a change, that it is possible. I've seen and heard way too many times, "working out starting today," or "New year new me gonna start going to the gym to lose weight," and 90% of the time these people #fail. Don't keep their word, don't remain motivated. They're more about the talk the talk then walk the walk. I'll admit I'm a tough cookie sometimes, I can talk a lot smack and be more blunt than I should be. Sometimes it hurts people's feelings sometimes they take my advice. But I do keep my mouth shut sometimes only because I know that if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all.

A few tips to keep yourself motivated is to keep a calendar on your wall. Each day that you work out mark it down and how long you did your workout for. This helped me a lot because at times when I noticed a 2 day gap where I skipped my workouts I end up feeling guilty for not working out so it motivates me to get back on track and continue to stay in shape. Another tip is if you have the space on that calendar, google some fit/motivation/workout quotes and write down one quote that stands out for that one month you are on. For example, for this month of January, I have up, "Anything and everything is possible," this here also motivates me everyday. I look at my calendar more than a few times a day and I read that quote to myself. It keeps me motivated and positive for my goal.

Another tip is with grocery shopping. I know this is the hardest part of eating healthy. Before leaving the house or if you go on your way after work or whatever, make a list of ONLY healthy foods. Many of you think eating a salad is the best way to eat the answer is NO.! Don't depend on salads too much. It won't help you trust me. A salad is good but not that great. One because you don't process lettuce. Instead of buying lettuce, buy spinach or romaine lettuce or even red leaf lettuce. But do your body a favor and skip the regular lettuce. Some great foods to add to your list is tomato, green/yellow/red bell peppers, asparagus, fresh mushrooms, carrots, celery and all the great veggies. As for fruits you can buy any fruit you'd like. I also recommend buying whole wheat with high fiber bread. If it's possible buy bread with flax seed in it. I usually buy mine at Fresh & Easy or Trader Joe's for the flax seed bread. Or at Walmart they have a high fiber whole wheat bread. I usually eat 2 toasted slices for my breakfast. You can add peanut butter or jam or both its up to you. I also stock up on oatmeal. You can find a box of 20 for under 3 bucks at Walmart. For meats I know it can be pricey sometimes with meat. So buy what you can. I like to buy the big packages of chicken legs & chicken breast and I separate them at home in zip lock bags and put them to freeze for a meal later in the week. I normally only eat 2 chicken legs for dinner. Which is marinated in either BBQ sauce or lemon pepper. No salt. And I only eat one chicken breast the same way as chicken leg. Or if you find a healthier sauce to use online go for it. I also eat tilapia. I bake them with spinach. Add a little bit of EVOO, black pepper and a squeeze of lemon before baking. So there are a lot of good things out there at the grocery store that you can buy. Skip all of that junk food you're used to. I now only drink water if you find it hard to drink plain water buy water enhancers like Mio. Which is sold at the .99 cents store. Speaking of the .99 cents store, there you can also buy your veggies and fruits.

Now you're probably wondering what kind of workouts I do. Well it's simple, Insanity workouts. I also do go to the gym once or twice a week on my 2 days off. I only run the treadmill at 4:00 A.M. for 25-30 minutes at a 4.5 speed. Go home, sleep and wake up again at 6 and do an Insanity workout DVD. When I don't go to the gym because I'm too sleepy (lol) I'll wake up at 6am and just do my Insanity workout. Which is far enough for the day. Running the track will slightly help you lose weight, but not as much. I used to think running would help me a lot but really it only gave me good looking calves and tighter thighs. Didn't really noticed a drastic change versus the change Insanity gives you. I also use a band to workout my arms and back. You can find those at Ross or Marshall's. I got mine at Sports Authority for $14.99. NOTE: The picture below is not me. It's a picture from the net. This is just a picture to show you the results of Insanity.

I hope these tips are useful to you or to anyone trying to lose weight and get fit. I had a lot of belly fat that I had to lose and trust me I didn't start noticing change until my 3rd month. So don't get discouraged if you don't see results right away. It can be your body fat. I started off at 145 pounds and today I weigh at 122 pounds. I'm noticing a 4 pack forming, my legs are strong and so are my arms and shoulders. I lost a lot of belly fat and have a lot of muscle around my stomach now. Don't forget you also need protein. I am a natural weight loss person so I don't take any pills or drink any protein shakes. I get all my protein from the meats and foods I eat. If you need protein you have many options out there. I usually eat a protein bar like Luna bars those are enough for me. If anyone has any questions please feel free to email me at don't be afraid to ask questions. I'm an honest person when it comes to advice. I won't talk smack I promise lol. I'll be very straight forward with anyone with questions. Remember never give up, keep your head up, don't advertise your workouts or results on social media because if you work out and fail to keep up people are going to think you're a fail. Sometimes losing weight isn't for everyone. Just do your thing and when you're ready to show the world your awesome body show it off. I'll be showing mine off during the summer. So there's plenty of more time to get tighter.
Good luck all!

Dollar Tree Trip 01/17

Today I decided to stop by my local Dollar Tree to use online coupons for the first time. I thought to myself this is going to be a challenge. For 1, for some reason there's always a long line at Dollar Tree, 2 some cashiers here in my town always have an excuse for not scanning coupons or the coupon wont scan or go through. Too many negatives in this town, but I gave it a shot. Here's what I got.

(2) Kraft Recipe Makers for a dollar each ($2.00)
-you can still find a coupon for $1.00 off 1 on
(2) Progresso soups for a dollar each ($2.00)
-I believe still has the .50/2

total before coupons: 4.00
total after coupons: 1.50

Pretty good for my first time. I had asked the cashier before I began to shop about the coupons and their policy. I need to over look the policy online and print it out for next time. She told me I was only able to use 4 coupons per visit. Printed or not. I haven't seen it yet so I'll be doing that next. I hope more deals come up and I'll be keeping an eye out for them to post up. Thanks for stopping by!

Rite Aid Trip 01/17

Hello all it's been a very long time since I've posted my trips. Today I went to Rite Aid. It has became my favorite spot right now because I've been able to get a lot of freebies even with little or no coupons. Here's my trip picture.

Only one item is missing and that's the Garnier hairspray. I gave it to my sister earlier. Anyways here is the information. Note I had $29 Up rewards accumulated from last weeks trip which I didn't post up.

(2) Garnier products @2.99 each = $5.98 *buy 2 get $2.00 up reward*
-used 1.00 off any hair product and 1.00 off any hair styling product found on
(1) GE Energy smart bulbs @7.99 *get $4.00 up reward*
(2) Altoids @2.29 each = $4.58 *get $2.00 up reward limit 2, I got $4.00 up reward*
(1) 6pk bar of Caress @6.99 *get $2.00 up reward*
-use 1.00 off any 6pk of caress coupon was found in a magazine I forgot which one
(1) Max Freeze @8.00 *get $8.00 in up reward*
-used 1.00 off from their facebook page, not sure if it's still available*

total: $33.54
total after coupons: $29.54
total after $29.00 in up rewards from last week: $.54 cents.
I got back a total of $20.00 back in up rewards for next week.

Success trip right? I think so. I literally paid pennies for something that would have cost me 33 bucks oop. No way Jose.

This is how I get products for pennies by using their up reward program. I use my earned up rewards to pay for other products that offer up rewards. And for more savings I use coupons. Another tip when checking out at the register, first have the cashier scan your products, give the cashier your manufacture/online coupons then hand the cashier your member card. This way you get to use your coupons before the up rewards. Learned this by trial and error!  Thanks for stopping by!
